On the Road to London 2012: Cameroon Loss to Scotland 16/07/2012, By Colette Dibo in Aberdeen
|
The women’s national team has lost 0-2 to Scotland in their second friendly test game, as they prepare for the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Playing on Sunday 15 July in Aberdeen where the Indomitable Lionesses have set up camp, the team conceded a goal in each half. In spite of their clear domination of their opponents.
Shortly after the half hour mark, Arianne Baby Beyene had an own goal as she failed in a back pass to the goal keeper. Then against the run of play again, seven minutes to full time, the Lionesses conceded the second goal.
Many Cameroonians from Glasgow, Aberdeen and the nearby cities ignored the heavy down to turn out massively in support of the team. The huge support from the fans was enough encouragement for the team. And the players and staff were happy with their tactical and technical performance, in spite the defeat.
The Lionesses won their first test game, 2-0 over Ireland.
